Solid’s content management system of choice is Refinery CMS. Refinery is an open source Ruby on Rails content management system for Rails 3. We choose Refinery because it’s great for small business sites where the client needs to easily and quickly update their website themselves—no technical skills required. Unlike other content managers, Refinery is truly aimed at the end user making it easy for them to pick up and make changes themselves. The User-Interface is clean and simple, and easy to learn, so the end user feels at ease.

We also chose Refinery because we love working with the technology it was built upon, Ruby on Rails. This means that we know the code behind your site inside and out, so if you do need some help with update or complex changes, we can do it quickly and efficiently without the complexities associated with typical 'one size fits all' solutions.

Refinery Overview:

Tabs Refinery’s tabbed system operates much like a website and is easy to learn and navigate. The dashboard tab shows you all the latest edits made to your website.
Pages: The pages tab lets you browse all of the individual pages that make up your website, as well as create and edit new pages.
Creating a new page is as simple as adding and formatting the desired text in the entry field, then selecting any desired images to be included, and clicking submit.
Browsing to and adding images to your webpages has never been easier thanks to Refinery’s simple thumbnail-based image selection system.
